Lily Stuart – A Story of Growth, Determination, and Success
Since joining the Itec on the JGW+ programme in June 2025, Lily Stuart has shown exceptional dedication to her personal and professional development. Arriving with a clear passion for the hair and beauty industry, she quickly demonstrated her willingness to learn, her enthusiasm for gaining new skills, and her determination to build a successful career.
Lily is currently completing her placement at Alisha’s Hair and Nails in Treharris, where she has truly flourished. She approaches every task with confidence, quickly picks up new techniques, and consistently impresses her employer with her commitment and professionalism. Her positive attitude and eagerness to engage have allowed her to develop strong practical skills that will support her long term ambitions in the sector.
Her journey, however, goes far beyond workplace skills. When Lily joined the programme, she faced challenges with reading and writing—barriers that could have held her back. Instead, she met them head on. Through the support of staff and her own resilience, she developed her literacy skills, built her confidence, and achieved multiple qualifications, including:
- Essential Skills Wales in Communication (Entry 3)
- Entry Level Awards in Employability Skills
- Essential Skills Wales in Application of Number (Entry 3)
- Level 1 Introductory Award in Employability Skills
These achievements reflect not only her academic progress but also her growing independence as a learner. Lily actively takes responsibility for her development—asking questions, practicing consistently, and applying new knowledge with confidence. Her transformation is a powerful example of how determination and the right support can unlock potential.
The impact of Lily’s journey is clear. She has gained valuable hands on experience, strengthened her employability, and built the confidence needed to take her next steps in the hair and beauty industry. Her growth has been inspiring to everyone who has worked with her.
In her own words:
“Since starting my programme with Itec, I have learned so much, gained new skills, and grown more confident. The support from staff has helped me make real progress and achieve things I’m proud of.” – Lily Stuart
Lily’s story is a celebration of progress, resilience, and ambition. She is a shining example of what can be achieved when talent, hard work, and meaningful support come together—and we are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished.
