How a Level 3 Apprenticeship Helped Pooja Achieve Her Career Goals

Pooja Joshi joined Itec Skills and Employment while looking to develop a career as a carer with the aim of gaining the experience and skillset to become a senior carer.

She started her level 3 apprenticeship to help develop her knowledge, skills and confidence within Health and Social Care. This would ensure that Pooja can confidently execute her job safety while keeping in mind her patients and herself. Through the guidance and support of her Itec Assessor Hayley, she had continuous guidance from the Itec team, the individualised support allowed Pooja to feel the process to be much more straightforward which lead to her being able to conduct and effectively implement her gained knowledge directly into her day-to-day work.

Upon reflection of Pooja’s apprenticeship at Itec, her employer HC-ONE commented ‘Pooja has worked hard to progress through her L2 and L3 apprenticeship and has since become a senior carer’. Pooja commented on her journey, “It has also helped me progress in my career and has opened up new opportunities for me. With my Level 3 qualification, I feel I have the potential to progress into a Unit Manager role, either here or somewhere else in the future.”

Her progress from her Level 3 apprenticeship and the support she had from the Itec team meant that she has improved her knowledge and confidence particularly around the medicines and how they can be successfully used to treat someone. This has impacted the medicines and how she administers them, allowing the patient to feel that the medication is more effective.
