Oliver Harford joined Itec Skills and Employment with a clear passion for sports and a strong ambition to build a career in the leisure industry. Driven and focused, he worked closely with his Employability Officer, Gareth Williams, to prepare for the world of work. Demonstrating a proactive approach to his personal and professional development.

Together, they worked on strengthening Oliver’s employability skills, particularly focusing on interview preparation, CV development, and professional communication. His commitment and positive attitude were evident throughout, as he embraced feedback and used it to grow in confidence.

Thanks to his dedication and preparation, Oliver has secured a work placement at the Leisure centre in Swansea, one of the region’s leading leisure centres. Although he only recently started, he is already making a strong impression and demonstrating punctuality, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn while adapting quickly to his new role.

Oliver has expressed how much he’s enjoying the placement, and the experience is already reinforcing his career ambitions. His early progress highlights his enthusiasm, reliability, and professional approach – qualities that are essential in the sports and leisure sector.
