Imogen Kitcher @ Boyce Group

Unlocking Potential with Real Experience and New Opportunities

At Itec, we are proud to highlight the real impact work placements have on young people through the Jobs Growth Wales+ Programme. Imogen’s journey with Boyce Group is a great example of how the right opportunity can unlock potential and build confidence.

Over the past few months, Imogen has fully immersed herself in the world of marketing, becoming a valued member of the Boyce Group team and contributing meaningfully to live business projects.

Throughout her placement, Imogen has worked alongside experienced colleagues, gaining hands‑on experience that has helped her build both technical and professional skills in a real working environment.

One standout moment has been her involvement in a live billboard campaign. Working closely with the marketing team, Imogen designed a series of marketing mock‑ups, and impressively, one of her designs is set to appear on a billboard in Cardiff. It’s an incredible milestone for someone at the very start of their career.

Aaron, Head of People at Boyce Group, shared: “We’ve seen Immy’s development since day one. She takes direction well, is polite and works brilliantly with the team. It can be daunting contributing to a brand like Kingsway, but I trust Immy with real responsibilities and objectives. I hope she’s getting as much out of it as we are.”

As her placement has progressed, Imogen has also discovered a strong interest in events management and organisation. The team at Boyce Group is actively supporting her to explore this further, ensuring her experience continues to align with her passions and future career goals.

Through her JGW+ placement, Imogen has gained clarity about her next steps. She reflects, “I have gained a lot of experience in marketing and now have a clear route of where I am heading. I’ve developed skills needed for the workplace and really enjoyed it.”

Her journey highlights exactly what JGW+ aims to do: build confidence, develop skills, overcome barriers, and open doors to future careers.

Imogen’s message to other learners considering the programme is simple: “You should definitely do it.”
