Finance assistant
Location: Caldicot
Employer: Chepstow Plant International Ltd
Hours: 40 hours a week
Roles and responsibilites:
Purchase Ledger (Primary Focus)
- Support with raising of purchase orders.
- Process supplier invoices accurately and in line with internal controls.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes, resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain supplier accounts, ensuring statements are reconciled monthly.
• Assist with payment runs.
• Respond to supplier queries promptly and professionally.
• Support month end processes
Treasury & Cash Management (Development Exposure) - Assist with daily bank reconciliations.
- Support monitoring of cash inflows/outflows and updating cashflow trackers.
General Finance & Administrative Duties - Support the finance team with ad hoc tasks, reporting, and projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes.
- Uphold confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance at all times.
Skills, Attributes & Experience
Essential - Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
Desirable - GCSEs/A Levels or equivalent, ideally including Maths or Business.
- Any exposure to office or administrative work.
- Interest in pursuing AAT or similar finance qualifications.
