From Shy Beginnings to a Bright Future: Morgan’s Journey with Itec

At Itec, your success is our success. Every member of Itec is one hundred per cent committed to learner experience and creating meaningful, effective, and sustainable outcomes for all. This case study demonstrates how our team can support learners and employers on their way to bright futures:

Morgan Ridgway joined Itec’s Jobs Growth Wales+programmewith no qualifications, no CV and no idea where his future would take him. He found the classroom environment overwhelming with large groups, and was open to any industry with jobs in his local area to get a head start in gaining practical skills.

Itec Employability Officer, Gareth Williams was eager to help Morgan on his employment journey and so introduced him to Celvac, a UK water industry confined space removalspecalist. As a shy individual, Morgan felt apprehensive working for a large employer for the first time, however, as he began his placement, Morgan received full training and gained a lot of support from other staff members. Tasks were adapted to suit Morgan’s needs and he soon became a valued member of the team. Morgan then began completing daily tasks such as general maintenance, mechanical work and industrial cleaning, alongside building his confidence and expanding his knowledge.

As a result, Celvac are employing Morgan using the JGW+ Wage Subsidy Scheme with immediate effect. Gareth said,“I am very proud of Morgan, he has come a long way since we first met, he has proved himself here.”

Itec extend our thanks to Celvac for providing an excellent placement for Morgan and building him a prosperous career path.Itec’s Jobs Growth Wales+programmeaims to connect learners with local employers, empowering them to develop valuable skills and excel in the workplace.Morgan’s supervisor at Celvac, Michelle Davies is in full support of theprogrammeand said,“It is lovely to support young adults in the community and see them develop.”
