Dietetics Administration Assistant

Location: Kier Hardy Health Park, Merthyr Tydfil

Emloyer: NHS

Hours of Work: Part Time

Salary: National Minimum Wage

The post holder will support the department of Nutrition and Dietetics in the provision of a high quality, comprehensive and efficient administration and support service. They will liaise and work with the Administration Service Co-ordinator and/or the Dietetic Team Leader to ensure the smooth running of clinical dietetic services such as clinics, home visits and group education.

The post holder will act as a point of contact for users of the service e.g. individuals from inside and outside the University Health Board, patients and members of the public.

 

  • Answer ward phone calls and record the information in the Ward Call spreadsheet.
  • Send out letters to patients.
  • Print new referrals from admin email and electronic mailboxes.
  • Enter data into the relevant spreadsheet and computer systems.
  • Collect and distribute internal and external mail for the department.
  • General photocopying, filing and appropriate disposal of confidential documents.
  • Filling of patient records cards when they are returned to the site.
  • Pull record cards for clinics and prepare them for internal posting / pick up.
  • Input new non-electronic referrals on into computer system.
  • Review and maintain stock levels of administrative resources.
  • Review and maintain stock levels for any material required for patient record cards (e.g. printing inserts to maintain levels).
  • Audio-typing of letters when required.
  • Collect letters from the printer and envelope them ready for posting.
  • Print, organise and prepare packs for service deliver.
