Production Operative

Location: Port Talbot, SA12 7BR

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: National Living wage (£12.21 per hour)

Role and Responsibilities Summary

The role involves carrying out all responsibilities assigned by the company to ensure that day-to-day operational requirements are met across all areas of work. You will receive comprehensive training to enable you to carry out these tasks safely and in accordance with company procedures and high standards.

Your core duties will include applying labels, collating and assembling products into packaging, and managing stock levels. Once trained, you will be expected to set up and use job-specific equipment, including pneumatic capping and filling machines.
Working alongside the Production Manager, you will develop your skills to include maintaining records, replenishing stock and planning future requirements based on orders, schedules and forecasts.

You are also required to adhere to all health and safety aspects within the field of work. As with all employees, you are expected to correct any health and safety issues you identify and inform the managing director of them. You will also be responsible for maintaining records in accordance with ISO standards, logging all appropriate actions, and notifying the relevant people.

As an employee, you are also expected to suggest improvements to production activities and procedures. The ideal candidate will be able to use their own initiative to solve issues and improve processes. Finally, we are looking for someone who can adapt to working procedures in accordance with the company’s needs and the day-to-day adjustments required by the changing circumstances in which we operate.
