It has a silver collar which has many dents and dings, the hallmark has been lost. The shaft or stock of the whip has been re covered in dark brown leather with a finely stitched seam. There are several scuff, scratches and gouges to the leather including a 1 cm (half inch) full thickness defect near the end of the shaft. It has a replacement open leather keeper or loop at its end
